Hi all...I picked up a Camillus 920 Heat...nice knife for the money...anyway, I'm a bit confused...the clip is on the same end as the assist nub...if it were on the opposite end (and on the other side), it seems more natural as the nub would go right to my index finger...since there is no way I can switch it, what is the best way to open these with the clip in the current positon...thanks.

I guess that could work but it seems like a design issue if the knife would open faster with the clip on the other end.

If I'm not mistaken (which happens quite often) you probably are supposed to use the flipper on the back of the spine of the knife using your trigger finger.I think the nubs on the side of the blade are really there to stop the blade from over rotating. This is the way it works on my Kershaw Leek.

Sorry...I used the wrong terminology...when I said nub, I meant the flipper. But while we're on it, how would the blade over rotate? I just figured they put nubs on the blade itself for those that want to open it the old fashioned way...:):)

there's no stop pin, those thumb studs act as the stop pin. they are also there so that you can use them if you want to.

That clip is reversible to the other side of the knife if you need to move it. It looks like it is set up in the normal position for a right handed person and for inside-the-pocket clipping. If you are a leftie or you are clipping it to a belt or to the outside of your pocket, then the clip may be backwards for you. When you draw the knife, try grasping it by the hinge bolt with your thumb and middle finger. As you raise the knife, let it rotate around the hinge bolt until the back of the handle hits the palm of your hand. At that point, grip it more firmly and your trigger finger should be near the flipper and may be able to press it. Your thumb will also be near the thumbstud and you can open it that way as well. At least that it the way I would do it, but I never liked handling those flipper knives.
