How to center blade?

On a knife such as a Benchmade Axis design, how would you go about getting the blade closer to center?

It's not off bad or touching the liners, very funtional, just a bit off. It's not worth sending in...

But how would one go about centering? Polish one side of the bronze washer down or is it more involved?

i have a buck that can move up to 1mm if the pivot isnt tightened correctly

otherwise, i have no idea how else you would fix it

On this particular knife, pivot tension has minimal impact on the blade position. Pivot screw all the way out versus pivot screw clamped down results in virtually the same blade position.

Maybe someone like STR can chime in.

I have recentered blades by loosening the pivot screw, then the handle screws, center the blade, then retighten the handle screws and finally adjust the pivot screw. Hold the blade centered until everything is tightened. If the blade is being pushed by a liner lock, I'll go past center, then tighten all the screws, and the blade will center when done.

^^^^Great suggestion. I've tried that to some extent with no luck, but may give it another shot. I've also tried swapping the bushings from one side to the other (they are same diameter), but it didn't make a difference.
