How to center line

How do you get a center line on a forged and tapered blade? I know how to get it when stock removing.I'm just trying to figure out how to center the edge without just using my eyes,Is it possiable? Thanks,Bruce http://bladesmithing.isfun.net

Bruce i use a surface plate and heigth gage lay the tang on the plate and run the corner of the gage down the blade,thats how i do it, hope this helps,
