How to change username to Gold once purchasing a membership

I just purchased a year gold account, and my status will not update to gold. Last time I paid for a membership I don't think it ever updated either, but now I am trying to sell in the marketplace and it's saying I'm just a registered user. Didn't see anything about this in the FAQs

Go to 'settings' top right

Under 'my account" on the left, select 'permission groups'. You can change it there.
