I would like to saw some bowie blocks into 1/4" to 3/8" thick scales. I have some 1.5" aluminum angle but I cannot seem to get it that close to the blade. The spring clamps won't work when I get it close. If you have pictures, that would help.

I really think pictures would help.

Did I mention pictures?

Maybe if I put the fence on the left of the blade, instead of on the right, I don't know. I haven't tried that.

Thank you,
Andy

1) Put the clamps on the front and back of the aluminum angle .
2) Use a wider board for the guide. Then the clamps won't be a problem on the side You can screw the aluminum angle to the edge of the board if needed.
3) If you just don't have enough room, try the other side of the table.

Great ideas. Thank you.

Last night I used a relatively thick piece of micarta 3/8" X 3" X 20", and that did what I wanted it to do.

I don't think I need to see pictures after all. I keep chugging along with practical solutions.
