Hi there,

Today I went outdoors and took some pictures after snowfall.

After taking this picture, I tried to clean the snow sticks on the blade (the rosewood handle one) but failed, coz it's too low temperature so that the snow just stick on the blade.
Then, I directly fold it and put back to my pocket.

I just back home then found there are leftovers on the blade, I tried to use Zippo refill to clean but it has zero to do with it.
From my point of view, it's not lead by the snow, but something dirty (just like fatlute) in the axis or pivot, after the snow melting, they come out with water coz months ago when I try to give lubricating, similar dirty things come out but I cleaned them right away, this time, maybe because I just put the knife in the pocket so they stick on the blade.

Since I've tried Zippo refill to clean but failed, any more advice please?
Thanks.

I agree with flitz, rubbing and patience.

Many like to form a patina on their blades here. It gives the knife character.

I’ve had excellent luck using ballistol for about 20 years. Especially so using a very light coating on the blade, always. If you have a pesky stain, I let some soak on the blade for 20-30 mins, let it get a little gummy, and then use a wooden dowel rod to scrape away the stain.

OOOO steel wool.

Toothbrush and Bar Keepers.

Aluminum mag polish.

Buffing compound on a small piece of leather.

Aluminum foil. (Ball up a piece and rub the blade with it.)

Copper pot scrubber.

Brass brush with automotive paint cleaner and polish.
