I took my new Maxpedition Kodiak Gearslinger with me camping this past weekend on our annual ATV'ing/ camping trip, and with all the clay dirt in the mountains of NC, the thing is caked with clay, mud, and dust. I got everything but the dust off with a damp rag, but in the seams and stuff i cant get it out. I called maxpedition and they told me just to clean it with a rag, but they wouldnt tell me anything else. Could someone please help me get it back black like it was when I bought it?

try a fingernail bush or old toothbrush for scrubbing out the seams & such.

I cleaned a Maxpedition manbag once by placing it in a bucket of hot water and a big squirt of Dawn dishwashing liquid. Let is sit for a day or so, rinsed it out real good under running water, and let drip dry for a day or two. Worked groovy. I think that the youtube chick RoscoeBA ran hers through the washing machine, which softened it up. The bucket method should work just fine for you, IMO.

After its done, you could always spray it again with Scotchguard fabric protector if you cared to.

Well,my stuff gets dirty, and then mysteriously
gets clean (cleaner) after it rains.
Hiking in the rain would have the same effect as
a sprinkle from the garden hose on it.
I usually dont have to do much else to it.
