Hey everyone! I am pretty new to knife collecting(i have maybe 15 knive) and my dad just gave me a few old knives that he found in our shop. The two that im asking about is an old case hawkbill from 1970 and a craftsman fixed blade knife from the late 70's. The blades on these knives are actually in pretty good condition, but they do have a little bit of rust on them, and the hawkbill blade is really dull and the edge is dinged up. How can i properly care for these knives without harming there value, im not looking to sell them, just want to take care of them properly.

Thanks

You won't hurt them by scrubbing the blades with 0000 steel wool-dry.
Then, oil them up, sharpen them, and use them!

Probably the only real 'value' they have is 'sentimental'. 😉

Do as Bill has recommended and enjoy them.
