How to collaborate?

Maybe you guys can help me with this one.

I feel like I have completely lost interest in making actual knives anymore, for some reason I find little to no fulfillment like I once did. Not making knives anymore wouldn't really bother me but for the fact I have a mountain of designs created over the years and would hate to see them go to waste. While I could just give them all away and upload them to knifewiki.org for example, I would like to at least try and actively see them to fruition. I have tried contacting a few knifemakers with little to no luck and I can understand wanting to invest your energy into your own work but I wouldn't be pursuing this if I didn't genuinely believe I have something to offer. Have seriously stopped collecting also so placing custom orders would do me no good, I honestly don't care if I don't receive a single knife made of my design and I'm not looking for any sort of remuneration either. Just want to put my work out into the world with the help of some talented craftsmen/manufacturers to inspire another generation of knifemakers.

Some of my previous work for those interested although the designs I have stored go far beyond my capabilities as a knifemaker.

Do you have the cad work done or know how to do that? I think that will be a big part of whether makers will take you seriously or not. If you do, then you may want to post up a few renders or sketches for makers to decide if they like your style or not. Most won't do a colab if they aren't cool with the style I would imagine.

Very good point, thank you Josh. Yes I can do and have the designs in a vector format which I believe can be outputted to g-code for CNC. I can also get them made into 3D solidworks files but it's not something I do myself.

I will upload some designs this afternoon.

Don't stop making knives. I have been checking out your stuff since the old days on the late British Blades forum. You do those little pesh kabz style blades as well as anyone.

Much appreciated, thank you. I just feel like I'm at a stage where my designs and ideas have far exceeded my capabilities in the shop. In my eyes I barely even scratched the surface on Pesh Kabz series.

If you want to collaborate, you have to build and cultivate relationships, have you done that?
Or if you are a big known name, that works too.

KamSingh KamSingh - I really like the look of that Scagel Bowie style folder, maybe Spyderco would be open to such a design, as well as the "Mongoose". I have no experience of knowledge in how one would go about it, but I could those two potentially being a hit for them. Those two are very cool designs.

C coldsteelburns - Thank you Paul! As I understand it having a working prototype greatly increases the chance of it being considered for production, makes sense since if you have a working model there are less chances for any kinks needing to be worked out. I would like to see the Scagel in particular produced in the USA if possible, not sure if that'll happen with Spyderco.

I dunno if these will be helpful to you, but I remember seeing these some time ago about a designer doing a collab with WE knives where he goes a bit into detail about how the opportunity came about:

Edit: I just saw your last comment about having them produced in the USA, but I'll leave the links below anyway. It was just the round hole that made me think or Spyderco, which is the only reason I mentioned them. :)
