i was tring to find info on forging daggers thru google no luck.. i mean in my head i basicaly got the idea of making a dagger. i figure a dagger would be a nice blade to make as my 2nd or 3rd knife. im very intrested in that time pariod of weapons. i was wondering if anyone had any links that show the forging method of a dagger.

Thanks Vinny ;)

here's apic of my third knife-a dagger-my mistake was I made a full tang wich caused a lot of logistic problems

the crossguard, pommel and handle all had to be made in halves. That involved notching out the crossguard to fit around the blade. It would have been easier to make a partial tang.

In Jim Hrisoulas' Forging Damascus video he demonstrates by making a damascus dagger.

This was my First knife making video that i got about 4-5 years ago and i must say if you dont have it then get it. It was what pushed me do start doing damascus steel, after watching it many times i was able to forge a damascus blade that was allmost perfact. This is defentley a must have, its funny because i was just thinking about watching it. Im going to be moving it to dvd because i dont want my tapes to go bad from watching it to much.

I agree. The Hrisoulas video is worth watching, especially as a first introduction to the process. It could use some editing, I think.
