How to darken elmax

I am getting a new knife with elmax but i already know that i will want to darken it. I have heard about using hot vinegar but i also hear it only works on carbon steels. Any help here?

Caswell's Stainless Steel Blackener, works like cold blueing on carbon steel.
It will wear off with blade use like any other coating/chemical treatment, but it should do the job on your elmax.

elmax is above stainless, so to speak it very rust resistant don't know if even ferric chloride would touch it. you may have to live with it.
