How to delete old private messages?

I'm got an email saying I'm using 92 out of 100 allowed private messages.
How do I delete my old messages? I can check each message but I see no "delete" function.

After selecting your messages you should have a pull-down menu detailing what you can do with those messages, with a radio button for 'delete'. If you select 'delete' you then click 'proceed' at the bottom of the menu and it should delete your messages.
