I'm currently looking at a Boker whittler, the 280 series to be specific. I'm seeing all sorts of conflicting labeling on vendor sites as to the steel type used. For instance, it was my understanding that the Tang Stamp and Tree Brand series with the etched blades were all carbon steel, but I'm seeing some advertised as "carbon alloy", "Solingen stainless", etc. What's the scoop? Are different models made with different steel? Is there some designation for carbon?
Thanks in advance,
