How to dissolve super glue or resin sap?

I know it sounds unusual but I have super glue on hard plastic and was wondering if there is a solvent which could help remove it.

I also bought a vintage knife which looks like there is tree sap or resin on the blade. Not sure what to do with it.

Thanks in advance for any ideas

I believe acetone (common in fingernail polish remover) available in pint-gallon size containers at Home Depot, et al. will dissolve super glues. It also might affect or mar the hard plastic. Research to find out if the plastic is soluble in acetone or whatever solvent you use.

lighter fluid and a lot of rubbing with a paper towel (seriously took me a couple hours) got the superglue off my eye glasses.

Goo-Gone will usually take care of tree sap, if that's what's on the one blade.

On the hard plastic, that may complicate removal of super-glue. Many of the solvents designed to remove it may also damage the plastic. Don't know if your plastic item is precious or not, but sanding may/may not be a possibility, followed by re-polishing the plastic.

I'm noticing Home Depot (online) apparently carries some 'Bondini Super Glue Remover' (Gel Brush-on), which is advertised as a 'multi-surface' product. Don't know if that includes plastics. Apply it to the cured adhesive, let it sit for a bit, then rub it off (according to published product description on HD's site).

( Edit: The MSDS for this product, linked below, shows 70-95% acetone content; may not be the best for use on plastic. )
