I see some can do it,how do I edit a thread title like mark it "sold" "traded"blah blah etc so people do not waste effort to open the thread.I do not see that option when editing only in the sub title, but not the main thread titles.thanks

I paid now, but,I still can't figure it out.I change the title, but it only changes the sub-title in the post not the link on the forum page.

It's a software bug -- editing the message title sometimes changes the thread title too and sometimes it doesn't. Can't figure out why....

Sorry about bringing this rather old thread BTTT, but I think you're able edit a thread's title for as long as you can edit the post's content without having a "Last edited by..." note attached to your post - about one or two minutes after you submitted the post.

thanks for the response.I could have sworn though I had seen f/s thread titles edited to say "sold" etc.It is nice not only to correct errors, but why have to click a link to an ad that has the items sold already?I figured editing the thread title would help from people needlessly clicking into the thread.Oh well, thanks for the help.

I'm sure the vBulletin people would fix it if they could....

Thanks for the suggestion, Quiet Storm, but it doesn't follow that pattern either. Every pattern we've hypothesized fails to fit....

That's strange because it seems to always work that way for me.
