How to find a home security consultant?

Hi,

I'd like advice on how to find a good home security consultant. I ran a search but all I get is retail outfits who want to sell you their stuff and will come do an assessment. If possible, I'd like to find someone who can give independant advice. Alternatively, good online resources would be useful.

Thanks,

JD

No if you look at the security retailers you'll just get sales-people trying to peddle their home security systems on you, as you already found.

You need to look for an experienced IC(Independant Contractor), or a company that does Executive Protection/PSD/and Risk Management.

PPS's (personal protection specialists) do Home Security consulting for their principals all the time, it's their bread and butter.

It'll cost you some money, but you won't get a more expert opinion elsewhere.
Otherwise you're stuck with either sales people or electricians, not security people.

The Steele Foundation(one of the very best if not the best) has an office in Seattle, they might be able to help you further. They do Property Security as well.
