I bought a few Boker Barlow knives to restore. Some of the blades have been sharpened to the point where they need to be replaced.

Does anyone know how I can find these parts? For the 492, 493, and 494 knives.

Thanks!

The only thing I can think of is to buy some that have a good blade but messed up handles, then switch them out. Please post pictures if you do, I'd be interested in seeing the results.

If not available from Böker, (probably aren't) find used with good blades but nasty handles?

Make Frankie Stein's Barlow's with not Böker blades?

If multi blade Barlow, and one blade is still good, amputate the bad blade and it's spring?

Google "boker barlow knife replacement blades" Also do the same at the big auction site.

Great ideas folks. I've tried most of them. The springs are fine, the walk and talk are perfect, actually. The blades have been beaten up over the years and sharpened poorly.

It’s going to be difficult, frankly speaking. These knives we love were made more or less made to be throwaway items once they were used up (which still might be 30+ years of daily use if taken care of) and repair rather than replacement was not really on the radar. I’m sure the factory had replacement parts at some point but after a certain amount of time they probably just gave the customer a new knife or a discount towards one. It’s not like cars or other things where there was a dedicated repair network and you may today find a part that Ford hasn’t carried in decades in some small shop in Alaska.
