How to finish smooth bone handles??

I'm new to knife making and this forum and have a question about bone handles. Can you guys give me ideas about how to best finish some smooth bone handles. I've heard you can polish and leave them that way or finish with polyurethane. I'd appreciate your suggestions. Thanks everyone. Larry

Bone will polish nicely. Add a paste wax coating. There is no need for an applied finish.

Thanks, Bill, what about stabilizing. Will the bone shrink as it ages?

Properly dried bone doesn't shrink noticeably.
