how to fix a slipping liner lock

So I have a spyderco cat g10 that has had vertical play due to a slipping liner lock since I got it about a year ago. Cutting stuff, you don't really notice it, but it bothers me, lol. I have tried to see if it will fail by putting substantial pressure on the spine(probably 100# of force) and it will slip to a certain point and then slip no more; almost like there is a steep angle and a lesser angle on the tang. It seems to be slipping off the steep angle and stopping on the lesser one. I have taken it apart and lightly scuffed the tang in hopes that maybe it was glazed or just didn't have a grippy enough seating surface for the liner to engage. No improvement. Any suggestions? I just dont wanna make it worse or unusable, lol. Thanks guys!

Since I have taken the knife apart, I assume that voids the warranty. Wonder what spyderco would charge to fix the knife? Knife wont unlock unintentionally, but the 1/4" of movement at the tip as the liner slides kinda makes me leery, lol.
