How to fix an old knife

What is the brand? Case and Buck, for instance, will refurbish and repair/replace blades and scales and such for a modest fee. They do great work.

If not from a factory that does such work, there are a couple of really good restoration experts that post here.
 
Maybe if you post the question over in the KnifeMaker - Shop Talk forum, someone would have an idea.
 
perhaps post a picture somebody might be able to I.D. it and that at least would give you a jumping off point. I feel your pain because i inherited a seen better days schrade walden with 2 broken blades and beautiful butter and molasses scales:( not an easy fix, not impossible but not easy to find a match.
