Hey guys i recently got a microtech SF in the mail and it has a very sticky lock..
I have tried using sharpie on the blade where it locks but the sharpie wouldn't fit inside the cracks therefore i could not do that.
I also do not have the microtech tool so any suggestions would be fantastic!

I have used graphite before (pencil) with some success. The sharpie works about the same. You really need to take apart the knife and put it on the lock bar for it to work though. I know that does not help much:(
this is one reason why I don't own any knives that I don't have the tools to take apart!

thank you i will try that

oil it and use it alot

In all seriousness they're isn't a end all quick fix for that. My ZT0560 was really sticky. I put fine diamond strop paste on the lockbar and excersized the lock bar a few hundred times. That polished the titanium and widened the contact patch. It worked okay. But then it was a pain to have to take the knife apart an clean all that stuff off. Eventually it smoothed out much more.

I have read a few places that a little Sharpie on the lock face will improve a sticky lock. I could be worth a try.

they make ultra fine point sharpie pens, and you can use a sharpened pencil or powdered graphite lube

I just put pencil lead on the blade's base where it makes contact with the lock-bar. You can do this while the knife is closed and you have to open/close then apply more pencil everytime. Taking a folder apart hasn't been necessary for me and it's a good thing, as it takes a lot of opening/closing before the lock stops sticking in my experience.
