I have a ZT 200, and it has a very soft detent. I am looking for advice on how to strengthen the detent. I have reasonable mechanical skills and most shop tools. I have disassembled many knives and feel I have a good general knowledge of the very basics.

Any tips, advice appreciated.--Thanks, Don

Pretty simple, requires no special tools (besides hands). Just disassemble and observe how the lock bar sits when unrestricted. Now just bend the lock bar further towards the other liner. Do small increments at a time and reassemble to check your progress.

Well I tried that kniferbro, to no avail. I bent the locking liner as much as I felt it could handle without much change, if any. If anyone has other ideas, I'm open.

You cannot fix it. Chances are the detent is out of place with the detent hole on the tang of the blade. My recommendation is to send it in the ZT and see what they can do about it.

Well, Luis G. I will at least call ZT, and send it back to them if that's the opinion.

Thanks for the input.
