I really like my work sharp ko

But can't seem to get a toothy edge with s30v it ends up being to fine, and what I use my knives for I need a toothier edge

Anyone else have this issue?

The key to a toothy edge is jumping straight from a fairly low grit to very high. I'd recommend a coarse belt straight to stropping on some leather. With some compound, if you have any.

I had thought that but gave up on chasing the bur I'll try again, thanks

If you want to get rid of the burr quickly, you can slice through an eraser or in to some wood.

General Purpose.
Toothy.

Course stone only
or field edge.

Try using the 120 grit belt until you feel a burr at your desired angle (this should not take very many strokes); just for arguments sake lets say 20 degrees.
Now adjust for a slight microbevel; let say 24 degrees. Now do 3 or 4 strokes with the 6000 grit on each side. Don't overdo it.
I really like the edge this makes.
