How to get linksys wireless card version?

I installed a linksys wireless PCI card a couple of years ago. I want to update the drivers but I can't find the install cd and I have no idea what "version" I have. It seems to matter on the linksys download page.

Any ideas on how to determine what I have? Thanks.

Does it say in the Device Manager?

Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager

On my Win2K laptop, I rt-click on My Computer then select Properties>Hardware tab>Device Manager. You can also get there through the start menu: Admin Tools>Computer Management>Device Manager. Expand the Network Adapter item, then rt-click on the device, select Properties and check the Driver tab for your version number. Might be different on a WinXP machine, but the first method should work.

Righto, it gives me a driver date of 3-27-04 and a version of 2.2.3

Actually I don't even know what kind of card I have, There seems to be multiple PC cards on the download page.

most likely version 3. if the different versions are dated you should use the most current one as a general rule.

I downloaded and updated to version 3. I'll see how that works. Thanks for the help

The original problem is that I get DHCP errors, tech person thinks that's causing my PC to lock up periodically, I thinks it's some other totally unrelated XP related update that hosed me.

If the driver update doesn't work you might want to next try setting up a static ip address for the machine you have wireless card installed in. In my router it is listed under 'basic setup'.
