I tried searching this and the search engin is given me crap. I have some photos of my knives i took with my camera. I put them into My picures in my computer. How do i get them onto my for sale thread. Obviously doesnt work as a URL. I already put them onto photo shop, but when i try to add them to my thread all i get is an X. Thanks in advance from a first time photographer.

Click on the attachments (manage attachments) in the thread reply box and upload them direct to BF. Click on the attachment in another window and copy the BF location. Go back to your thread and paste image location. Try it, takes some getting use to, I usually don't do them as attachments, but just post BF location as the image location.
Good Luck

First, the pix have to be compressed to a reasonable filesize. You can't upload pictures directly from the camera; that would be a waste of bandwidth. Look in the "save as" menu of whatever image program you use for an option like "save for web" or "save for email."

When you post look underneath the box you type your post in for the "manage attachments" button. Click that, then "browse."

Can I hijack with a further related question. Say I have a bunch of Bladeforums pics uploaded; thusly reaching my allowed maximum of photos. How do I retrieve the photos and delete them or reuse them in other threads? I don't remember where they are.

User CP at the very bottom on the left you will see "attachments". There they are.

Or you could upgrade your forum experience and get more space with being a Platinum member. And title changes can be done every day FREE.:D:D:D

The larger avatar is more of an enticement than titles at this stage. It would mean I was expanding my mind.:D

This has been an ongoing struggle. Given up on it for now, but in the future will there be any way to just simply copy and paste photos? For example go in to 'My Pictures', select photo, then 'Control V' (copy) , then go to the reply window on the forum and click control P (paste) where you want in the text.

That's essentially what we have, as long as you've saved the picture at a reasonable filesize. Just click manage attachments, browse, find the file in My Pictures or wherever you saved it, double-click it, and click upload.

By the way, Control-V is paste, and Control-P is print.

It does help to have a little familiarity with computers....

Yes Control C is copy. Learning the language of computers is not easy for me. I think sizing the photos is my road block here. When I go to My Pictures I cannot find the button or tool or whatever the thingy is to re-size photos. It seems like it is trying to upload, but it goes on for quite awhile and then the errors show up. I really don't like the idea of using web picture hosting services like photobucket.

I wonder if Vista makes working with photos and video easier. Heck I have a whole movie taking up space on my hard drive that I would like to burn to DVD for about a year now that I want to get rid of. I think it is simpler to just delete it for now until I can get a tech whiz to actually take the patience with me to learn how to use a computer for more than just a typewriter, which is all I really use it for.

I still prefer good ol days of vacuum tubes, relays and pneumatics. I could fix the stuff with a touch of a screwdriver, instead of having to plug in a keyboard.

The other much more simpler way is to open a free account of Photobucket.com Upload your pictures then cut and paste the direct URL link of said picture into the yellow insert image thingy ....then you never have to worry about file size etc..photobucket does it all for you...
