How to get the whistle cord lock thing back apart?

Okay maybe I'm an idiot but I snapped the whistle cord lock thing together with no cord in it and I can't figure out how to get it back apart. Any idea how to unlock it?

If its like the cord locks that come on the fire steels and such you might have to stick something like a little screw driver in the mouth and wedge it open. It should snap open fairly easily.

Dont feel silly, I've done it more than once and hollered "DOH!"
 
I had the same problem.... just use a small screw driver, pry it up and pull apart. it should be fine, there very well built.

+1, this worked for me as well. And don't feel stupid, the first thing I did when I got the kit was connect those two pieces...and then I realized what I'd done. Haha, it happens to the best of us. :p
 
Lol i asked this a month or so ago.

I was told to slide the corner of a credit card down on either side.
It latches on both sides. And that worked fine.

Haha glad to see I wasn't the only one. Glad also to see this thread because I gave it a shot.

I just (1 min. ago) used a couple of plastic cards and a screwdriver to pop it open. I had already written it off due to my stupidity and figured it would break if I tried to pry it open. Thanks guys!
