Hi everyone, I got a Case Chestnut Bone CV peanut a while ago and have been toying with the idea of grinding a swedge on it. Is that something the average person like me could do, and if so, how would I go about doing it? Thanks!

What tools do you have or have access to? I often draw file mine using very little pressure, only the weight of the file. If I grind mine in, I hold it vertically with the point down. It is easy to do, but difficult to do well. With a little practice on some junk knives I think you can have an acceptable product.

P.S. this question might get a better response over in shoptalk.

but to do it well takes some practice
i practiced on my case blackhorn, first photo was my first try, ive since filed a more distinct swedge. the second photo shows a vic pruner i ground a swedge on turned out pretty good.
i actually rough it in with a rotary tool and then switch to strictly my diamond files
practice on a beater good luck
