How to heat treat spring steel

Guys,

I recently came into a large lot of 1080 spring steel. Just curious about how to properly heat treat it. I do have a forge at home and all of the necessary heat treat tools.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, I am new to the forum.

Heat to 1475, equalize, quench in oil, temper. This is about the simplest steel to heat treat. Normalizing before beginning the heat treat is always a good idea.
