Hi,
Could anyone tell me how to tell the older carbon steel Tigershark from the newer ones. I had been told if it was in a blk leather SOG sheath then it was the old carbon blade. This I proved to be wrong after ordering one on line. Would it be safe to say if its not powder coated and the blade is shines like a mirror its most likely carbon? Thanks for the help.

one check is blade serrations, I don't think the old carbon steel Tigersharks ever had blade serrations.

another test, that the seller probably wouldn't let you do: drop some cold blue liquid on the blade. Carbon steel can be blued, stainless steel cannot.

I can't think of anything else.

Cheers,

Carl
