Over two weeks ago, I registered for the first time over at the spyderco.com forums. I used my real email, not a free email address. I verified my account when the verification email came. I can't post or send PMs or do anything on the Spyderco forums. Anyone know what's wrong?

Contact TazKristi (either on this forum or on the Spyderco forum). She'll get you hooked up.

Did you get the email yet saying your account has been activated, or is it still awaiting activation by an administrator? That, apparently, is a manual process even for folks registering with an email address issued by their ISP. If that job is just one more of the many hats Kristi wears, then she may be running a bit behind.

yeah it's been about 3 weeks and I still can't post. I went through all the rules and I didn't see anything about a wait period after registering to post or any other steps in activating an account other than the initial activation email. I was wondering what's going on.

I'm sorry ya'll. What's going on is I'm buried. To paraphrase Sal, my "day job" takes up a lot of my time. To be honest, the only way I've ever kept up with the forum is nights and weekends. Even those are pretty full right now. The forum got hit with a big wave of spammers attempting to register. Sorting through to let actual people in and keeping the spammers out can be time consuming. I'm down to around 100 now. I'm hoping to catch up to registrants this weekend, so please bear with me a little longer.

We do value your input and we do appreciate you. My apologies for the frustration and inconvenience.

Kristi

Just returned from Okinawa where I occasionally enjoyed a spam onigiri for breakfast, but I do prefer my forums spam free.

So thanks Kristi for your efforts.

I appreciate it. Keith

I tried to register last year using a Canadian Federal govt e-mail address it didn't recognize it as being a real address Oh well.

Thanks for the explanation, Taz. Obviously, we've been wondering, what the heck.....?

I registered Jan. 10 and haven't been able to post until a few days ago.
