Recommendation? How to keep threaded barrel attached muzzle device from unscrewing when firing ?

Trying to use a "linear compensator " , NOT a suppressor . Just redirects flash / blast (and some noise ) forwards, away from shooter .

Also keeps my green laser sight a lot cleaner .

But the thing keeps unscrewing itself when firing just a mag or 3 .

Comes apart from the barrel threads not the adaptor / MD connection .

Didn't come with any sort of crush washer or lock washer and I'm unsure if I should try that or ?

Guess I can just always have a glove on weak side hand, to tighten up the MD as needed . Gets HOT ! 🥵

I'd try Rocksett (heat resistant thread locker) and the appropriate amount of torque, the muzzle device manufacturer should have a torque spec.
:) Thanks ! I just looked at Midway USA for this and it would be great for a long term mount , but I need to take on and off repeatedly .

I just use the MD for practice not carry .

Teflon tape in the threads can work well, Rocksett is pretty permanent (but it dissolves with water, not heat); I use that on muzzle devices that receive silencers, or on rifle cans that are direct attach.

Barring that a rubber O ring can work too.

Are you torquing it on to spec? I've got a linear comp on my 7.5" SBR, and once I torqued it on to proper specs, it doesn't move.

Also, why are you needing to frequently change your muzzle device?

The Ruger LCP II .22LR is my normal carry, concealed . The MD is too long and bulky for my carry . Just put it on to practice .

I don't know if there is a spec, per se, for torque . IIRC, the instructions with the threaded barrel just say to use only the short wrench supplied .

You're putting a linear comp on a .22LR gun? WTF

I didn't realize they were a thing in rimfire, mine is a 5.56, and it breathes fire!

I forget how to post pics on here...

Figured out a way.

LOL ! They are probably only "a thing" for me . Yeah ...I'm weird ! :p

When I have a chance to shoot steel targets (on my property) , it's often late and I like to minimize the noise . Redirect a bit .

Plus , I have a green laser sight that the MD really helps keep clean . And , just something new to fool with , curious about how it would work . :)

Fair enough. I honestly had no clue they were a thing for rimfire. I work at an indoor gun range, and put it on because it's the only way to tolerate shooting that short barrel indoors for me.

ETA: I guess I do have suppressed options, but my SBR uppers are all obnoxious. This one only doesn't have a linear comp, because the A2 flash hider looks better IMO. It's a concussive thing inside though.

Shake it up well, then make sure threads are decreased on barrel and muzzle device. Apply enough to cover all the threads. Cinch it down to 30in/lbs, clean off excess and let it dry thoroughly. I'd let it sit for a couple of days.
