How to know if my strider is the newer version?

I bought my first Strider SNG tan stonewashed about two months ago from bladehq.com. Its been great so far and is one of THE most comfortable knifes I've used, next to my Sebenza.

Recently I've noticed it has developed up and down blade play. When I moved the blade up and down I noticed the framelock sliding outword, and I could tell if I pushed hard enough I could fold the blade.

I thought that strider fixed this issue, or has it only been within the past month that their framelock has been fixed? I purchased the knife right when they came in stock so it wasn't a strider that had been for sale on the website for a while lessening the chance of it being older.

Any of you're comments would be greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,
Zack

Thanks for the video, looks like I have the old version.

It's really unfortunate that websites aren't stating if their the old, or new version.

Scratch that, I do have the new lock interface. My luck isn't the best whenever I get knives. I just email strider yesterday so hopefully they'll get back to me soon!

I called Knifeart before ordering to make sure it was the new one, the old ones are still awesome knives, and Strider will help you out if you do ever have problems.

I gaurantee you cant make the lock fail. the lock will slide over to a point, then it wont be able to slide any more

if it is radiused, its old, if its flat, it is new.

Clean the blade tang and lock face with alcohol (not Johnny Walker you dummy! :D)
Sometimes lock rock is because some contamination. If this doesn't fix your issue, you have 2 options: IF you feel comfortable and know how to do it; bend the lock bar JUST A TINY BIT (with knife taken apart-Very simple BTW just take notes of what goes where- OR send it to Strider. You will have it back PERFECT in no time:thumbup:
