This may be in the wrong section so mods please move if so.
I'm in Minnesota and there are a small handful of authorized brick and mortar knife dealers and the ones I've been in will sell an auto to civis but warn you they are illegal to carry. What I find completely ridiculous is that I can legally carry a AR15 pistol with a 60 round pmag drum mag (if I wanted to) with a valid CCW permit but can't carry a push button auto knife, something seems backwards there. Does anyone know of groups that are active with trying to change knife laws, maybe the NRA, or has anyone been involved with changing their local laws and if so how did you go about it? It seems to me that the knife laws could easily be changed in Minnesota, or many pro CCW states for that matter, but there aren't nearly as many knife enthusiasts as there are gun enthusiasts and that's why laws with one have evolved while the other is stuck in the past.

1: good to know I'm not alone
2: yup, I started my search here
3: thank you

Yeah right now knife rights is as far as i know the only organization that fights for our antiquated laws be treated like the garbage they are. They have really been kicking ass and taking blades lately (more like giving them back i should say.) and really been making progress. But it takes time. Ill probably move or be dead by the time illinois ever wakes up but its nice to see things are changing. And we owe it to knife rights.

Yeah it looks like a great group. I see neighboring Wisconsin may allow auto blades carried with a CCW permit soon, hopefully MN takes note and follows suit. As for Illinois I know how crappy they are for gun owners so I can only imagine..

Hey I'm in Minnesota too and I carry a microtech ultratech every day so I too would love to see our knife laws change

We have a knife laws for here, specificallt for these topics regarding legislation. The Automatics section is to discuss the knives themselves.

Likewise, unless I'm at work I have either a Troodon or Benchmade 9052 in my pocket. At work it's a 484-1, I don't want to lose my job over a knife that should be lehal!
