How to locate samples of Micarta & G10?

Howdy,

I've been trying to get an idea of what colors and textures the Micarta and G10 come in. My monitor just ain't cuttin it.

Can someone tell me who to call to get asamples that show the color / texture variety of each material.

I'll call Accurate Plastics as mentioned in a previous topic for the G10. Hope they can help.

But, I'm not sure about the micarta.

I must be sounding like a broken record but check with K & G and also Texas Knifemakers Supply. You can look at their web pages by going to the Knifemakers Guild website(www.kmg.org)and look under "suppliers".

Texas Knifemakers Supply carries linen and paper based micarta. I believe the linen comes in white, black, red and maroon or burgundy. The paper base comes in white (referred to as ivory), black and uh, brown, ugh! I know at one time they also carried a rag micarta. It was a green color.

If you do come up with another source that has different colors, would you please let me know?

Hi Everyone,

I did call Koval and Texas Knife Maker Supply. Both will send a catalog. However, they don't send samples. I guess Westinghouse Produces the Micarta in North Carolina. Tried to call them but that's a huge company. I'm a nut.

I also called Accurate Plastics. I think I called the New York location and the lady helping me was TYPE A to the max. After trying to spell two Hawaiian words for my address she got all frustrated and said she'd call back. Never heard from her again.

I'll figure it out.
