What is the best method to loosen a ridiculously tight clip? Normally if I get a folder with a clip too tight I just should a short stack of business cards underneath and leave them for a while - usually works more or less. However, on my Benchmade 940, I stuck about an 0.75 inch thick stack of cards under the clip, left it there for a week, and I still need a crowbar to pry the sucker on to my pocket. Any ideas?

You might want to try to remove it from the knife and bend it out a bit with a vise or something.

Definitely take it off, bend it, and put it back on. Don't try to mess with it while it's attached.

I've taken a piece of cloth slipped under the clip and simply pulled it up(blade closed of course).

If you happen to overdo it, then you have to take the clip off and re-bend it.

gotta go with the above post.....just get a nylon tie and put it under and gently tug it till its where you want it to be.... i have the one on mine set so it is just OFF the knife handle.

Take it OFF the knife, THEN bend it A LITTLE. If you bend the clip out while it's still on the knife there IS a good chance that you might rip the screws out. (I can't believe some of the advice that you have received from people who SHOULD know better...:(.).
