On Tuesday morning start the clear liquids for Senna prep for a colonoscopy, after two days of low residue diet.

Go in on Wednesday morning for procedure. Undergo anesthesia and wake up to find procedure not done due to still obstructed view.

Get sent home to spend the rest of the day doing Myralex prep.

Go in on Thursday morning for procedure, weigh, and find that you have gone from 247 to 237 in two days.

I recommend finding a better way to lose weight.

Had a colonoscopy a week ago, my third or fourth. I'm on an accelerated schedule due to family history. Never fun but I've never had to do double preb. That would be awful. I hope your results were good.

I have yet to do this and not looking forward to it, though I'd like the weight loss.

I avoid those by doing fasts. I can only do 4 or 5 days max, otherwise I have no energy for work.

Wow....10 pounds? That's a lot of S*#T
You probably feel like going out dancing after dropping that load:D

What fun! Good idea to keep your weight down, as that is a factor in overall health. A colleague of mine might have been saved if he'd had a colonoscopy -- colon cancer is no fun at all.

Gives a whole new meaning to dropping a dime...

Good for you - it's actually one of the [few] procedures that you can trust them when they say it's really not that bad [ unlike the Big V - that one they flat out lie about its bad ]- the prep is the worst. Schedule it for early am then you don't have to wait all day to eat again :)

Mike, hope all reports come back with good news.

I once had one, by a doc that also was going to do an upper GI scoping at the same visit.

He asked if I had any questions.

I said "Only one. If you're using the same scope, can I chose which test you do first???"

Hey, my Body Mass Index briefly went from 27 to 26!

Had it down to 24 three years ago with the Paleo diet. At 6'8" and 219 pounds I looked like a famine refugee. Looked terrible, felt great! Wife wasn't too happy about it, either.

LMAO! I hope you're doing well.

Guys & gals, While the prep for a colonoscopy is not fun, the exam can detect colon cancer before it is too late to treat. A full recovery from colon cancer is likely if it is found early enough. My brother chose not to have the test done and died from colon cancer at age 56, 9 months after he was first diagnosed with cancer. By the time they found the cancer, it had spread and was untreatable.
