How to lower ESEE sheath?

I just got an ESEE-4. I really like the knife, but trying to figure out how to carry it comfortably. Th knife I got just has the sheath with no clip plate.

Now, if I get the clip plate, or use a TekLok, it puts the top of the sheath at the top of the belt line, which means the handle digs into me, and my arm is in a funny position when drawing. I HATE when the handle of the knife rises above the belt. it also interferes with use if I have a backpack on with lower straps.

I don't want to go the route of MOLLE thigh rig. Too much over kill for light hikes in the woods.
I do realize i can drop another $50 or so into this project and have a custom kydex sheath made.

Ideal for me would be something like the ESEE 5/6 clip plate, where it drops the knife down a bit, but I don't think those will fit the IM plastic sheath from the ESEE 4.

Any other thoughts? I'm totally open to suggestions.

Never mind. I was able to think it through and I think I came up with a good way to set up a D-ring dangler. I'll try it out and update.

Try a Esee 5 clip plate?

Ben,

Check out this thread: link here
Nice easy way to drop and customize your sheath. Will work with esee (or tek lock). I asked him to make me an adaptor for a g-clip, and that works wonders.
Not free, but a far cry from $50. I got two:D

Ben, I second, third, fourth, fifth and so on foofie's suggestion of Chiral Grolims UKE 2.0. That dude is a genius and his godly creation is seriously awesome. I hope he makes fat stacks of his invention. That UKE will have you riding your E4 right where it needs to be..

Just buy the Esee molle back for your sheath. It lowers the sheath so that the butt of the handle is flush with your belt. I run it on my 4 and it works well.
