First welcome to Wolverine Camp...named from the movie Red Dawn (my sons idea :) )
anyhow this is about 5 mins from my house. I put it together to practice my bushcraft
skills and to just kind of hang out at.

This is a little hobo stove I keep stashed in the bushes at the camp. As you can see
it's just a coffee can with holes cut in the bottom and some wire about an inch off the
bottom so the fire can breath. I just used a piece of utility fencing for the "grill".

Just boil your water (16oz or so)

Once boiling hard, take the water off the fire and add your coffee (1/8 a cup) do not
put the pot back on the fire. Boiling the coffee with the grounds in it will make it
bitter. Let it sit for about 5 mins to let the grounds settle.

Then add a packet of instant cocoa and stir.

Don't forget your cup like I did. Or you will have to use a Ramora to modify your water
bottle like I had to.

Well there ya go, if your ever in North Idaho stop by Wolverine Camp, pull up a log
and pour yourself an Idaho hobo cowboy mountain latte....Sorry no WiFi.

ya know what, instant coffee in the pack is a good idea, and also the cocoa. Thanks for the tip. nice pics btw, i wanna camp like that

That was just normal ground coffee I used. I have used instant before. I use to fight wildland fires and we would always keep the instant coffee and the hot chocolate from our MRE's so we could mix up a mountain mocha when we would be out all night on a lightning strike or whatever.

Looks good! That's how my dad used to make it. He called it hobo coffee.

I can still hear him, " Just drink it with your teeth closed boy!"

Nice pics and spot.
For hiking, camping, etc., I like the little individual packets of coffee and creamer.

mmmmm, coffee, i need me some of that right now after 15 gallons of sangria :>

My buddy made me some "hobo coffee" when we went camping with this little old percolating coffee pot, water boils and splashes up over the coffee. It was good, until the last drain of the cup and I literally ended up with a full mouthful of gritty, grainy coffee-mud. It's good stuff, just don't drink the last cup.

BTW, If I'm ever in Idaho, I would love to pull up a log at Camp Wolverine... Maybe we can ambush some commies while we're there!

Badass.

I prefer tea when I'm out, but I'll take a cup of yours.
