How to make lanyard with bead?

Hey guys. I bought a ZT 0561 a while ago and have carried it almost everyday since. It would be the first knife in about 12 years I've carried daily, otherwise I switch because I can't figure out if I like any of my other knives or not, lol. So this being a special knife, I've got an idea. I recently tore my engine down and removed the trans/engine from my car to do an overhaul. Upon removing the oil pan, I found that GM had included an extra connecting rod nut (all others were still secure, thank god!), so I'd like to make a lanyard with this nut on the end of it. The only experience I have with lanyards is on my CRK Seb 21 CF which came with one, but I promptly took it off. This lanyard will be hopefully functional while making me chuckle every time I look at that nut. I'll be using 550 cord. What do you all suggest on a nice looking, functional lanyard that can incorporate the nut without it looking like an afterthought? Thank you!

The lack of response may be due to the fact that those of us who have fooled around with making or own lanyards had to do so by trial and error.

Search this forum for tips on making lanyards. Search YouTube...Lots of stuff there.

Here's one of my ZTS with beads done with leather and a Chris Reeves knot. Not real fancy but I am learning as I go.
