Firstly I removed crinkle and the knife was ugly and rough. Then I polish blade with sand paper 1200 grid - it wasn't bad... But I dreamed about satin SAR. Then I took driller, mounted sand paper 120 grid and... it was crazy ride. I almost destroy the knife. I rounded false edge and every lines was creased. Drama!

But my friend Yahoo has gold fingers and straightened lines, thinned blade above edge and putted satin on whole. Screws of course I'll change.

Few photos.

LMAO. :D Nice mods!

After some pretty crappy posts in the Busse Forum this week,
This is a great post!

I think that would take the vote for best SAR out there. I bet it is beauty to use now.

Well done

bagnet,

That looks fantastic! You and Yahoo did a very nice job! And I enjoyed the "drama" of your story. I think it needs to be saved somewhere as one of the best posts ever.... :)

Stay sharp,

Agreed, the best I've seen. I really like the lines of that extended clip point with the swedge. Is that a hollow grind on the blade?

Does Yahoo make or modify knives for a living? He must have done a lot of work at the grinder to get that good.

Yes that is almost hollow grind. Yahoo make knives and modify other for fun and pleasure.

Thank you for every comments, I devolve it for Yahoo.

Great post and even greater mod on the SAR:)
It's one of the best mods I've ever seen here, talking of an extreme makeover:cool:

Yahoo did a great job getting it the way you wanted it.
Best looking SAR5 I've seen so for:thumbup:

Wow, that's a great looking SAR5! It looks so ready for work now... The best part for me is I've just found out Yahoo and I live in the same city...:D:cool: I have to introduce him to my blades, will post pics
