I just got this great little knife for $20. including shipping.
Buck Diamondback Outfitter Knife

I would like to modify the sheath for horizontal carry.
Has anyone done this?

I guess I can use para cord through the belt look for one anchor point and
crazy glue para cord to the back of the sheath for the second tie point.
I want to attach the sheath to a backpack, not a belt.

Has anyone a better idea?
Thanks

I'm not sure I'd use crazy glue for a job like this. Rather, I would pierce the sheath and use paracord or a surplus nylon belt. Buck hasn't really gotten into the tactical world yet, unfortunately, and I think they need to get with the program and improve its steels and designs.

Industrial grade Velcro. I've been using it for years for sheath attachments and never had it detach accidentally. Glue it on with contact cement and stitch the edges.

Stitchawl

If the sheath allows it, punch a hole at the bottom of the sheath and use a grommet. Then thread the 550 cord through it and tie it to the pack

Or, take two short lengths of nylon strap, and stitch them onto the back of the sheath with a needle & thread....

what program would that be? They make a wide variety of knives for alot of different budgets, i have 2 and both do exactly what they are supposed to do and they do it flawlessly and they a from two drastically different price points... so you get quality across the board. We dont wanna turn this thread into a nasty Inferior Buck steel thread like the other one:rolleyes:
Besides this is a buck general purpose hunting knife not what i would call tactical and the OP wants it attached to a back pack

As far as the OP goes maybe a homemade sheath project is in order, might be a fun project!
good luck
