How to.....new CRK owner

I just unwound the lanyard off my new small 21, which leaves that nice blue anodized pin with the lanyard hole sitting between the liners. how do I remove it? do I need to remove it? can it fall out? Thanks in advance!

If I'm not mistaken, the pin on the small sebenza stays in place without the lanyard, while the pin on the large sebenza is completely loose and will fall out unless something is threaded though it. If you want to remove it from the small sebenza you have to take the knife apart.

For the small sebenzas you have to take the knife apart to get the lanyard pin out. Large sebenza pin will just fall out if you take the lanyard off.

The small will stay in, but it's going to rattle. I didn't like the rattle so I melted a little piece of lanyard in the pin to stop it.

The original lanyard stud would fall out when removing the lanyard. CRK changed this in that the lanyard pin is machined on each end to fit into the holes in the Ti scales, thus it will not fall out like the original and stay in the knife so it is not lost. To remove the newer style pin, the sebenza will have to be disassembled.
