i picked up a lb7 at the flea market yesterday as i was actually looking for a buck 110. i saw this blade which i thought was a 110 but ended up being a shrade lb 7, i had never had a shrade before but loved the way it felt and looked. the guy ended up giving it to me for 20 smackeronies and i was in heaven. this knive was not new but was not even schratched and still had the factory sharpining. what i do want to do is work on the handle which is kinda dark on the brass ends. can any one offer any advice?

It sounds like tarnish or light verdigris, and there are tons of metal polishes and such...like Flitz, Mother's, Brasso, et al, that will clean it up. I like to use a cotton wadding product called NEVR-DULL, it comes in a silver can like a tall shoe polish can...most big box stores and auto supplies.

Try BarKeepers Friend.
It comes in a paper can just like Comet cleanser does, and you just get the knife ends wet, and shake some of the Barkeepers on the Brass handles, and take a cloth and rub it til the stains are gone.

BarKeepers will also take of rust from a carbon steel blade, and it does it really fast.

I have found "Metal Glow" metal polish to work better than most others for a high gloss finish if that is what your looking for. Dont use it on etched blades as it seems to fade some blade etches but works real good on brass.
