Open an account at a site like Flickr or photobucket.com
Download your pics to the new account
Once they are on the photo sharing site, you can copy the URL and when you want to post here you click on the little picture of the tree in the toolbar of the response area and paste the URL of the photo into the pop up box

You can preview the post to see what it looks like

It's pretty easy, just play around with it a little

There are also some tutorials (or at least better instructions) if you search this site as well

Hope this helps

Hmmmm,I haven't tried the little box with the tree up there^ yet.,I just copy/past the [img/] code from my PB account.
Good luck Danc, looking' forward to some pics.

I have a photobucket account with my photos on it. When I go to that account and hover my mouse over a photo, a little box pops up with 4 lines of stuff in it. I click on the last box and it transfers the address of the photo including the IMG image tags into the Windows clipboard. Then I go to the edit box where I am entering my message and past the text into it and the photo shows up when the message is posted, just like I'm going to do after this sentence.

Hi Dan -

As mentioned above, you have to have your picture "hosted", or available on the internet so that others can see them. We can't see the pictures if they are only on your local computer. That is where flicker or picasa or any of the free image hosting sites come into play.

As Outdoorsfan mentioned, most all of the image hosting sites have some way to copy the "image tag code" that will allow you to post your pictures on the forum here.

For instance, I have my own web site and host my own images at iammoon.com - I have a picture that is on my server at iammoon.com called Image1.jpg that is in a directory called images - you can see the image in your browser if you click on the images address as listed in the link posted next :

http://www.iammoon.com/images/Image1.jpg

From the above you can see my server (www.iammoon.com), the directory or folder that the image is in (/images) and finally the file name on my server (Image1.jpg)

Now that you see the image is hosted on a server, you can tell the forum software to display the image by using "image tags" as follows -

Use a beginning image tag [img] using the brackets just as shown, and an ending image tag [/img] with the brackets and slash just as shown.

The complete image using image tags is as follows:

[img]http://www.iammoon.com/images/Image1.jpg[/img]

I have told the forum not to parse tags so that I could show you the syntax.

Below is what you will see if you copy the line with the image tags from above into a post -

Image1.jpg

I hope that helps - I look forward to your pictures!

Trying to catch my brother

Thanks Everyone I appreciate your help, and now look forward to sharing a few photos of the great Knives John has crafted for me

god choice for your first pictures, let me know if that trap works out, odds are you'll wake up tomorrow with one of my relatives caught under it and they'll need a lift home. :)

Hey dude, when you post pics the
's are getting in there twice, like this:

url][B]
[ /url][/IMG]

You also don't need the or if your already using the thats just for posting links, I don't know if your adding them or not though.

There not mistakes at all, but if you were wondering why "[img]" and "" up next to your pictures one fo those is probably why, :p, took me a while to figure one not to click the "Insert image" button and typing them out myself.

Cool shots, Dan!

The harder I work it, the more impressed I am with it. After using the Hiker in all weather and conditions, that's what convinced me to stay with the canvas Micarta handles you make, and of course your steel is awesome!

Thanks for the help on the suggestions KY English, I couldn't figure it out, but i felt like I am 90% successful finally! Will play with the last 10% more.
