If you've read How to post your pictures - An illustrated guide and you have any questions or comments, this is the place to be. I've also got some good info on posting multiple pics by FTP if anyone is interested (that's what I use).

I want to emphasize that I'll still be happy to post pictures on the forum or in the Forum Gallery for anyone who wants to send them to me. I enjoy this kind of stuff but I realize it's not everyone's idea of a good time.

I forgot to mention that sending the pics to Photopoint by e-mail is very slow if the picture file sizes total more than +/- 120kb. It just seems to take forever for Photopoint to process larger file sizes. To avoid this, send only a couple at a time or only one at a time if they're large pics.

I started using an FTP program a while ago to make my life easier. It was a free download from the net and takes all the aggrevation out of moving graphic files around in quantity. If anybody wants the info on it I'd be happy to tell you where to get it.

"you see that mountain over there? near as i can figure, that's where we are!"

Mdavis,

The other thread is locked (good idea) as it was taking toooooooo long to load. Any comments, questions or suggestions can come here.

Also, if there is any interest, I'll put the "Illustrated Guide" into MS Word format (pictures included) so it can be sent as an e-mail attachment. Let me know if you want a copy when I get it finished.

Hey I tried it on the Buck forum under buck bowies and the pic won't load! It just leaves an x. I'm using IE 5. What's up blackdog?

Shiroikuma,

I think there's a problem on the web site where you have the picture. When I clicked on your link to the picture, I got the following message:

Hello! This file is hosted by Tripod, a Lycos® Network site, providing the best personal and commercial publishing tools available on the Net. For premier homepages and lively community interaction, visit Tripod often.

Please click on http://members.tripod.com/shoshinryu/tempphotos/buck124.jpg to load this file.

I went back to your posting on the Buck Forum and the picture was there. The next time I went back to it, the picture was gone again. Cyber goblins at tripod I think.

Just putting this back in view in case anyone missed it.

Come on guys, surely some of you have pics of your stuff that you could show us. I KNOW there's some really nice blades sitting in those collections........

Blackdog, thanks for all of your hard work and the many attempts to e-mail me. You really had me going for awhile, it worked fine with your wifes addie. Of course it was MS and I couldn't read it because I'm on a Mac. It's okay, I printed up your "Illustrated guide" and I'm going to read it as soon as this screaming headache goes away. The headache is from trying to get AOL, to unblock my mailbox, that wasn't really blocked at all.

One of my many problems with using the computer is how to get the image size from a scan down to a manageable size, did you see the size of that Dagger from the General Knife Discussion Forum? I know I've got about four different programs to alter images, PhotoShop, PhotoDelux, Photomax, Presto + others. I can't figure out which one to use, or how to get stuff into or out of them. I know I've got to learn this stuff, but I sure wouldn't call it fun. Maybe I got into this too late, or that I'm too old, or that I really am an idiot. You and several others have been very kind and helpful and I do appreciate your patience.

Blackdog: YES! Thanks for being so committed to your "duties" (totally voluntary and without pay

) as the co-moderator and picture meister. Though, judging by my low profile lately, you'd think I'd fallen off the edge of the earth. Guys: I haven't disappeared, I'm just scurrying around trying to get all these khukuris out to everybody! Marya and I wake up in the morning and are scared to touch the computer for fear of a quick bout of insanity.
