How to quiet a Kydex sheath down?

On my little hike yesterday. I found out my Okuden Sheath for my Busse AK was a little noisy. The handle is a nice snug fit. But the tip of the Blade rattles around, sounds kind of like a pipe banging around when I walk. Its a Very nice Sheath, just a little noisy at the moment.

So any ideas on how to quiet it down? I was thinking about stuffing some Cloth down in it, to keep the Blade from moving around. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Rains too much in Oregon. Don't want to waste that much Money on a Leather sponge. Leather tends to get ruined after repeated soakings.

False.

crappy leather, yes. Good leather, no.

How do all those sheaths and holsters from Viet Nam get back in one piece?

Its not you, I just hate it when bad information gets perpetuated.

I don't know, I've never seen one. So there must a big difference between "Factory Leather Sheaths" and "Custom Leather Sheaths"? Because every "factory sheath" I've owned, took on water, Warped, and cracked. Maybe thats because the Knife companies cheap out on the Sheaths?

I do have one Custom Sheath by You, I'll have to test this out with. But that is why I prefer Kydex.

Thanks for the lesson leatherman.

To quiet your sheath you might try holding it in your left hand and placing your right index finger perpendicular on your lips and make ssshhhhhh sound. It might not work every time but it may be worth a try.:D

Poorly fit.
I never sent my AK in, it was fitted to another. I don't know, there may be a little difference in the blades. The Sheath is definitely top notch work. My bad for not sending my Sword in to be fitted. :o

Drill a 1/4" hole through a piece of 1/8" masonite or sheet metal etc... Line up the hole an inch or so (low enough to be in the bevel) from the bottom on the backside of the sheath. Use a heat gun or even a hair dryer and blow on the hole. You're just trying to heat up a very small circle. When it's hot enough to go plastic, lightly push a dimple into it with something semi pointy. You don't need much of a dimple, just enough to push into the blade bevel.

Thats not a bad idea, Thanks.

That is the tricky part about kydex. You certainly do NOT want the blade rubbing against the kydex because it will scratch the blade/coating. On the other hand, it must be fit to close enough tolerances as to not 'rattle'.

My advice would be to do what lukus suggested. Bear in mind that wherever the sheath touches the blade it will begin scratching the blade or coating so, if it were me, I would do it at the very bottom of the sheath near the point of the AK since that part of the AK will likely get worn anyway due to the use.

Be judicious with the hairdryer or heat gun. If you overheat it it will take the shape out of the whole bottom of your sheath.

I noticed Oku replied, so this me be for naught if he's suggested a better solution. Here's what I would do:

Get a small piece of sheet metal. Flashing from the DIY store works fine. Roll it into a tube and fasten to the nozzle of a heat gun with a hose clamp. Flatten out the front portion so it has a long thin open slot. Use this to heat up a small section of the sheath on the spine side of the tip on both sides. Don't go overboard. Once it's soft enough to form, slide the AK in, and use two flat, angled objects to press the sheath against the spine and hold for a minute or so. Alternatively, you could make a very small press and use it on the heated portion.

You, sir, are one smart mo fo.
