How to recover account? Admins not responding

Hey all,

I used to be a knifeforums ages ago and now would love to return with my regular username. Sadly, I have changed emails since signup. I signed up in the early 2000s. I have twice emailed the admins through the email address provided but haven't gotten a response. I actually still have my original activation email, because I migrated everything over to gmail years back and both time i gave a detailed description of the situation and a copy of that activation email.

Is there anyone that can help with this? I made a temp account with a temp email account just to write this post. I'll hold off posting my username/old email for now until I can maybe PM it to someone.

Not sure what the email has to do with it, I'm guessing you have forgotten your password completely. Barring that, if you logged into the old account, you could prove ownership, and change your email address in there.

Sorry, you're correct, Bladeforums. And I used to be ON Bladeforums. I clearly have not mastered posting from my smartphone!

Anyhow, yes, it was absolutely ages ago. And no, I don't recall the password, nor can I use the password reset due to no longer having access to that email account. It was the admin account for a website I no longer run. Any email sent to the email (@projectrob.com) would get bounced back because it no longer exists.

Is there any way to prove the account is mine? Short of re-registering projectrob.com and setting up a new email server with an account matching my old one from 10 yrs ago? Any admin would be able to see the account has been dormant a loooong time. I can also tell them the email address associated with the account and probably any personal info stored in it. I can also prove other sites where I use the same username.

Any help you folks can give me is appreciated! I finally have the time and money to start buying/tweaking knives again.
 
First, Spark is the only one who can help you. Moderators have no access to membership functions.

Second, if your old account is so inaccessible, you might as well begin again with a new one. Practically speaking, the old no longer exists.

Third, you can email me your old username and I can at least check its status. My email is in my signature line.
