How to Remove a Stain from G-10?

I have a used Spyderco Para Military 2 inbound and the seller was very upfront about the knife's condition, including that there was a stain on the grips. Pic below, though you may have to click on it to see the stain, which is "south" of the clip. I haven't received the knife yet.

No idea what the stain is (they're a knife shop and were not the original owner). Could be the blood of a ninja slain in the night. Could from an exploding dye pack in a bank heist gone wrong. Could be ketchup.

I'm not too worried if it turns out to be permanent as this will be a knife in daily use and will soon acquire new stains on my watch. Perhaps even a stain patina, of which this stain will be one of many in a rich mosaic.

However, I was thinking to give a scrub with soapy water and a toothbrush. If that doesn't do the trick, any other secrets? Is G10 dishwasher safe?

Also, do I need to/should I remove the scales prior to scrubbing? I mean, my other knives have gone through thunderstorms and I kind of expect this one should be able to survive a dunking/washing so I think it doesn't matter...right?

Yes, I'm obsessing because I hate waiting.

If it's blood, common advice is to use COLD water to clean, along with soap/detergent like you described.

That G10 is very porous, so whatever that stain is it is likely deep in the microscopic nooks and crannies. You might need to let the soap/detergent sit on the stain awhile to soak it in and give it time to loosen the stain.

This was literally 30 seconds with soapy water and a toothbrush. I can't tell the difference from new. No idea why the knife store didn't do this, but maybe it scared some other buyers away before this knife found its forever home.

I spent more time moving the clip 😃
