How to remove dried epoxy?

I epoxied a cord wrap last night and accidentally got some on the blade.

Is there any chemical that can remove dried epoxy?

I'd hate to go through all the hassle of refinishing the blade again.

Thanks!

Make a small chisel out of a nickel silver rod...shape it with a flat side to get into corners....use the chisel to remove the epoxy...it's softer than the steel, so no scratches....Good Luck....next time look close and keep a rag and some acetone ready for spills.

Acetone will dissolve cured epoxy. The brass or nickel chisel above is a good clean-up tool, too.

also if you use a soldering iron to heat the epoxy it will get very soft and you will beable to remove with very little work.

I tried some acetone on its own and it worked perfectly. The epoxy was real thin, and disappeared with just a few wipes. Thanks!

Some of the epoxy that I have used, also the urethane adhesives, do not move with acetone once cured. If the steel is hard, and the adhesive is thin, I have had good results with really fine steel wool. I only finish my blades to 1200grit, not mirror polished, and the fine wool does not leave marks on the blade the way that the abrasive paper would.
