How to remove paint from screws?

ive never stripped screws before, just the blade and pocket clip, I was wondering what I should use to get the paint off? I have them in a container with citristrip (the gel kind) and in a few hours I'm going to try and scrape the rest off. What should I use to get in the threads?

you could try lacquer thinner but why do you care if the threads have paint. Can kind of act like loctite and you can't see it when installed.

A small - toothbrush size - wire brush - preferably brass wire or if not available, just a stiff toothbrush and more cleaner/stripper followed by some brushing with lacquer thinner.
